Alvi's Drift Albertus Viljoen Bismarck (13,5%)

Albertus Viljoen Red Blend is the flagship red wine of Alvi's Drift. The wine is named after the charismatic founder Albertus Viljoen van der Merwe who was a celebrated rugby player for the South African national team, the Springboks. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 22 months in barrels of both French and American oak, of which one third are new. The wine is a blend of 50% Shiraz, 21.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21.5% Pinotage and 7% Petit Verdot. This is an elegant yet full-bodied wine, which contains plenty of the distinctive white pepper notes and dark ripe red fruit of the Shiraz.
