Ardnamurchan AD/Madeira Cask 2025 (52%)

The Ardnamurchan Madeira Cask Release 2025 is an exceptional single malt whisky from the Ardnamurchan Distillery, located on the west coast of Scotland. This release combines both peated and non-turfed whiskies in a ratio of around 40% peated and 60% non-turfed spirit.
In early 2018, these distillates were matured in bourbon casks and then, just over two years ago, transferred to Madeira casks for additional maturation. Just before reaching the age of 7 years, the casks were pooled and bottled at a strength of 52% ABV, with a total print run of just under 19,000 bottles.

Tasting notes:

Nose: Cocoa powder, stewed plums, sugared almonds, bread pudding, nutmeg, sandalwood, ferns, fruit scones and red berries.

Flavour: Cinnamon candy, cedar, salted nut mix with chocolate chips, rosemary sprigs, toffee apple, pine needles and strawberries with black pepper.

Finish: Medium-bodied, dusty, long and slightly drying.

This release has not been cold-filtered and has retained its natural colour, adding to the authentic taste experience. The influence of the Madeira casks adds rich fruity and spicy notes to the whisky, making it a complex dram that will appeal to both lovers of tarted and non-tarted whisky.
