Camikara Rum, originated in Haryana, India. They took advantage of a month of inactivity in the winter to use their pot stills to distill unfiltered sugarcane juice. Camikara means "liquid gold" in Sanskrit. This rum was aged for at least eight years in former bourbon barrels in the subtropical climate of northern India. No additives added. Just pure Indian rum!! (as it should be ;-) )
Tasting note:
The aroma is clean and can be referred to as fragrant in terms of intensity. On the nose, scents of ginger and caramel immediately emerge, followed by those of burnt sugar and cinnamon, with a hint of tropical fruit. The onset on the palate is and has something lumpy. On the palate, the flavors of caramel and roasted sugar return with a hint of cinnamon as well. Also the taste of chocolate with hazelnuts and a hint of cherry. The taste is smooth and so is the finish, which has a hint of vanilla.
