Glen Scotia 6YO 1st Fill Bordeaux Red Wine Single Cask (57,4%)

In collaboration with Campbeltown-based whisky brand Glen Scotia, De Monnik Dranken has selected a beautiful single cask bottling. This 6-year-old whisky is exclusive to the Dutch market and has undergone a finish on red wine barrels from Bordeaux.
After the distillation process, the whiskey was put away in 2017 onto a 1st Fill Bourbon Barrel and the final maturation (finish) took place on a 1st fill Bordeaux Red Wine Hogshead. After six years, a fruity and sweet whiskey with a velvety texture developed.
This was the moment Iain McAlister felt the time was right to have the whisky bottled, resulting in a pure and intense whisky experience that any whisky lover will appreciate.
The whisky retained its natural color and non-chill filtration was employed. In the end, only 230 bottles came out of the barrel and these have been made available by Glen Scotia exclusively for Dutch whisky lovers.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Tones of malted barley and clementine.
Taste: Sweet notes predominate, along with baked red apple, crystallized ginger, cinnamon and juicy strawberries.
Finish: Balanced with a sweet character where layers of golden syrup emerge.
