The "Infrequent Flyers" series is a range of single cask bottlings of Scotch whisky from the many distilleries in Scotland. The bottlings are predominantly single malts, although Alister Walker does occasionally release a single grain. All of these whiskies are bottled in their most authentic form - unfiltered, with natural colour and usually at cask strength.
Each cask that is bottled is unique - they are one-offs, producing only a limited number of bottles.
Unusually, they have no tasting notes on the labels - this is by design rather than by mistake! Whisky is quite subjective; everyone has their own opinion about what they experience in a particular dram. They don't want to tell you what to look for - but let you find out for yourself. They do use a bit of terminology as a guide - on the front of the label we categorise the style of whisky as either Classic (i.e. unpressed), Peated (i.e. smoky, phenolic), Triple Distilled or Wood Finish (where the whisky has been matured for some time or finished in a different type of wood, such as a sherry cask, for example).
