The second edition in Lindores Abbey's limited and popular John Friar Cor series. This time, the team have vatted a mix of rejuvenated red wines barriques, bourbon casks, and rum-peated casks. An excellent single malt, exuding notes of mellow maple syrup, roasted banana and fruits dates, before apples and spicy cinnamon, followed by waves of earthy peat. A sip confirms the notes of the nose, along with caramelised nutty almonds, and subtle maritime characters, wrapped in a velvety texture. Bottled without artificial colouring at a full cask strength of 60.9% ABV.
