Mac-Talla Virgin Oak 2025 (53.8%)

The Mac-Talla Virgin Oak is an Islay single malt from an undisclosed distillery bottled by the independent bottler Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers. This 2025 limited edition matured in a combination of bourbon barrels and Char 4 new American oak barrels followed by a 3 months marrying process in virgin oak barrels. It got bottled in 2025 at natural cask strength of 53,8% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour, as a limited edition small batch release.

Nose: a lot of vanilla sweetness from the cask combined with the Salty islay aromas. Lots of layers of flavours with aromas of mint, flowers, white fruit and subtle spices

Palate: mellow, sweet, spicy and powerful at the same time. A gentle sweet peat smoke with notes of Sticky Toffee Pudding, dried white fruit and caster sugar

Finish: more Islay influences with a sweet peat smoke, mint, fruit and vanilla
