Mount Gay 1703 Master Select Release 2019 (43%)

Mount Gay was founded in Barbados in 1703 and can rightly claim to be the oldest distillery in the world. Mount Gay has been making traditional Barbados rum for more than three centuries, so it can safely say it knows its trade. The 1703 Master Select is distilled in a traditional column still and a copper double retort pot still.
The master distiller produces rums in a range of styles, from young, fragrant rums perfect for cocktails, to well-matured rums aged in a wide variety of casks - and often more than one. Mount Gay helped shape the foundations of Barbadian rum.

Tasting notes:
In the nose fruity with rich notes of vanilla, banana, oak and mocha. On the palate sultanas, spiciness and toast. The finish is exceptionally long with a smooth roundness.
