On the north-east coast of the island of Grenada, situated in the mountains is the farm Dunfermline. There was once a distillery here, but it was lost to Hurricane Ivan in 2004. The clay loam found here was conducive to sugar cane cultivation for centuries. Today, four different terroirs with four different types of sugar cane spread over more than 26 hectares of Dunfermline. For this rum, the sucrose-rich sugarcane variety Lacalome Red was harvested.
Tasting notes:
Nose: A sweet undertone of fig, dried plums, dates and sultanas. A subtle hint of caramel in the background.
Flavour: Exceptional taste with combinations of nuts, yellow sultanas and a fresh touch of lemon.
Finish: Very smooth with a hint of Butterscotch.
