This rum was distilled at the famous Monymusk distillery (also called Clarendon Estate) in Jamaica. It bears the MBK label, which means, among other things, a "light" fermentation and distillation with a target ester level at the still exit of 70 to 80 grams per hectoliter of pure alcohol. Distilled in 1998, this rum was aged for more than 24 years in an American oak barrel in a tropical climate before being sent to Scotland for the second part of the aging process. Bottled in Scotland in February 2023 as 1 of only 169 bottles. Non-chill filtered, no added colorants and bottled at cask strength.
This rum is fruity and spicy, with notes of passion fruit, vanilla and cinnamon.
