This rum was distilled at the famous Monymusk distillery (also called Clarendon Estate) in Jamaica. It bears the MMW (Monymusk Wedderburn) mark, which means, among other things, that it was distilled in an iron still and that the target level of esters at the end of the still is between 200 and 300 grams per hectoliter of pure alcohol. This rum was aged for more than 24 years in an American oak barrel in a tropical climate before being shipped to Scotland for the second part of the aging process.
