This bottle was produced at Ailsa Bay Distillery, and has previously been marketed as Dalrymple. Ailsa bay distillery was built to produce a Balvenie style of malt for blends such as monkey shoulder.

Blood Oak gets its name from being aged in bourbon and red wine casks, which contributed to some deep crimson hues. It contains a hint of spice with notes of red fruit and ginger.
